This site is dedicated to information about an increasing number of Egyptians that have been arrested or jailed, merely for expressing their support for the Palestinian struggle against occupation, or criticizing their own government’s refusal to come to the aid of the suffering people in Gaza – a region which in itself can be considered a huge concentration camp for close to 1,5 million people. These individuals join thousands of other political prisoners in Egypt, and are distinguished from them only by the nature of their “crime”: Talking, writing or acting in the spirit of international solidarity. Their situation highlights the intimate link between calling for the liberation of Palestine, and calling for an end to oppression in Egypt and other states in the region.
